Colwyn Bay Trip

Colwyn Bay Trip

In August 11 members of Frodsham WI took the train to Colwyn Bay for a day at the seaside.

The beach was only a short walk from the station, and so we took a leisurely stroll along the promenade taking in the informative plaques set in the walkway giving facts about the area and admiring the stretch of golden sand. The beach has had major improvements through the Colwyn Bay Waterfront project in recent years.

After a stop for lunch in the sunshine, we carried on to St Trillo’s Chapel an historic and tiny stone building on the beach which is only big enough for 6 people and then did a detour through the town to admire some historic buildings. After finishing with tea and cakes we walked back to the station, some of us walking on the beach. We had a less straight forward journey home with a railway delay at Chester but this did not spoil a thoroughly enjoyable day out.

Murder Mystery Evening

Murder Mystery Evening

On 24th October 2026 16 members of Frodsham WI joined members from WI’s all over Cheshire to take part in a Murder Mystery Evening organised by Cheshire Federation’s Leisure for Pleasure Committee.

Encouraged by the theme of “James Bond” guests sparkled in sequins, or looked tailored in tuxedos, to solve the mystery of the death of double O agent Roger Damsels. A line up of suspects was introduced and through clever questioning the culprit was unmasked. The Leisure for Pleasure Committee had put in hours of hard work to make this an excellent evening of fun and even provided a two-course meal.

Frodsham WI’s sleuths enjoyed trying to solve the clues even if they did not guess the culprit.
